8月，南海伏季休渔结束。热带气旋“天鹅”、“莫拉克”则严重影响了粤、琼、台、闽、浙五省，从广东省内各大相关水产批发市场汇总的数据来看，水产品价格总水平比上月下降4.35%，其中海水产品下降10.54%，淡水产品下降0.53%，虾蟹类下降2.12%，贝类及腌干类分别下降1.49%和1.45%。与去年同比总水平下降8.81%，其中海水产品下降1.46%，淡水产品下降20.54%，虾蟹类上涨5.80%，贝类及腌干类分别上涨1.29%和17.62%。（数据对照见附表）
海水产品方面，8月份广东省沿海海况、气候条件一般，南海伏季休渔结束，但月初受两个热带气旋的影响明显，上旬的捕捞几乎停止，产品的高价位持续到月中；中旬后海水捕捞正常，货源增加较多，价格才逐步回落。受此影响，月均价格比上月仅下降一成，小于预期。参与统计品种价格基本下跌，其中带鱼（350克以上）价格环比下降15.75%，同比下降4.64%；门鳝（1000克以上）环比下降23.11%；红三鱼（150克以上）和池鱼（150克以上）环比下降6.41%和27.33%。淡水产品方面，随着本身成品鱼和海水产品货源的增加，价格多数有所回落，但降幅不大。其中交易量较大的品种草鱼（1000克以上）和花鲢（1000克以上）环比下降6.37%和0.17%；桂花鱼（400克以上）和鲈鱼（400克以上）两个品种则逆市上涨，环比分别上涨8.48%和16.24%；其它的品种也都有不同程度的下跌。虾蟹类品种与淡水产品类相似，价格在上月下跌的基础上继续往下走。其中南美白对虾（统级）和罗氏虾（统级）环比下降6.56%和9.50%，花蟹（统级）环比下降6.70%；膏蟹（统级）却一枝独秀，逆市环比大涨17.74%。贝类和腌干类价格均有所下跌，但跌幅较小。统计品种价格有涨有跌，像带子（统级）环比下降7.25%，而生蚝（统级）则环比上涨2.16%。由于9月份海水产品货源会继续增加，淡水养殖产品也会加大供应，价格还会进一步往下走；但恶劣的气候（如台风、暴雨等）也会造成较大的影响，值得关注。
